Day 7: Urban Axes
Take a friendly game of darts up a notch by planning an outing to Urban Axes. At Urban Axes, rather than aiming for the bullseye with a dart, you’ll be axe-throwing your way to victory. Urban Axes aims to take axe throwing out of the just the woods and include the skill and thrill into life in the city. Popular as a competitive sport in Canada, axe throwing has made its way onto the Austin scene and is a unique way to spend an evening out with friends. Take bets on who can hit the most bullseyes, taking careful aim with 1.5-pound hatchets.
If you have no idea how to get started, no problem. Coaches are onsite to offer 1-on-1 throwing sessions and to walk through safety protocols with each group and remain onsite throughout the session in case any issues arise. Spend the evening challenging friends to a friendly axe throwing competition and bring along the food and drinks of your choice to be enjoyed throughout the evening. While hard liquor is not permitted, beer and wine of your choice are welcomed, and can be kept cold in onsite refrigerators.
