On Christmas Day, this park makes for a quiet and serene escape into nature. Here you’ll find Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Botanical Gardens, five volleyball courts, three picnic sites, Zilker Playscape, and more.
Options for Christmas lunch include fine eateries such as Cannon and Belle, Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum, and 24 Diner (which is open 24 hours on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
Christmas Evening
Visit the downtown area for some awesome sights, twinkling lights, and a fun evening on the town. Grab a seasonal cocktail to spice things up! Plan to have your Christmas in Austin dinner at Caroline, one of our favorite establishments in town. At Caroline they’ll be serving up tasty holiday specials all the way until midnight on Christmas, including seasonal delicacies like fried duck leg, peppermint cocktails, and the delicious naughty & nice cake.
Visit Lady Bird Lake at sunset for a magical end to the day as the light hits the water. It’s a great place to go walking, and you can even paddle out on the water! After all the excitement of the day, you’ll be happy to end up back in the comfort of your rental home where you can all unwind and relax with some hot cocoa and holiday dessert by the fireplace.
