The fall season is a great time to visit Lady Bird Lake. The lake is often one of the most popular attractions in Austin in the city as everyone wants to cool off. Luckily the temps are slightly cooler and there is not as much traffic in the fall to take advantage of the lake. In between your lake activities make sure to explore the surrounding hiking and biking trails. You will find a serene area to hike around with views that overlook the many lakes of Austin. See the Bats at Congress Bridge
One of the most popular activities during most of the year in Austin is seeing the bats take flight from underneath South Congress Bridge. From March to November 1.5 million bats nest under the bridge during the day and take to the sky at sunset. You will see these incredible critters fly up for a night searching for bugs. The bats help out with the pesky bugs in Austin and are a true sight to behold. Don’t miss out before migrating for the winter season.
