Zilker Park features quite a few different lit up areas for the holiday season and the Holiday Tree can be found near the Moonlight Towers. The Zilker Holiday Tree will be lit up for the first time following thanksgiving with it turning on every evening after that at 6:00 PM for everyone to enjoy.
Austin Trail of Lights
In addition to hosting the Zilker Holiday Tree, you will also find another exciting event taking place at Zilker Park: the Austin Trail of Lights. This annual event returns once again in 2024 for an incredible experience that your whole family will want to take part in. This event is sponsored by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department that strings up over two million Christmas lights over Zilker Park. You will get to explore Austin’s biggest holiday event as you walk under light tunnels and past 90 holiday trees and 70 lit up Christmas displays.
